Excelerate Energy’s 138,000-cbm FSRU Summit LNG has returned to Bangladesh after it completed repair work in a yard in Singapore.
According to its AIS data, the FSRU, which serves Bangladesh’s second LNG import terminal, was on Friday morning located offshore Moheshkhali Island.
Kpler also confirmed the arrival of the unit after a five-day journey from Singapore in a report on Thursday.
“The vessel departed from the Seatrium Tuas shipyard on July 6, following repairs to its hull damaged during Storm Remal in May. Summit LNG is expected to resume imports soon,” Kpler said.
Kpler also noted that the 174,000-cbm GasLog Geneva is scheduled to arrive on Friday, but it remains unclear if it will call at the FSRU Summit LNG or the nearby Moheshkhali LNG terminal, which is served by Excelerate’s 138,000-cbm FSRU Excellence and operated by Petrobangla.
“While Summit LNG underwent repairs, Moheshkhali LNG successfully received two cargoes,” Kpler said.
GasLog Geneva’s AIS data provided by VesselsValue shows that the vessel is loaded with a Qatari cargo and was on Friday located offshore Moheshkhali Island and not far from Summit LNG.
Summit LNG started ops in April 2019
US LNG player Excelerate told LNG Prime on June 14 that it expects its FSRU Summit LNG to complete repairs and resume operations by the end of July.
The FSRU was damaged on May 27 during Remal.
LNG Prime contacted Excelerate to provide a comment on the arrival of the FSRU, but we did not receive a reply by the time this article was published.
In August 2017, Summit entered into a 15-year charter agreement with Excelerate for the FSRU, and the unit began operations at the facility in April 2019.
The terminal has a sendout capacity of 500 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) of natural gas, and the FSRU is connected to shore by a six kilometers long subsea pipeline.
