EPS hits new LNG bunkering milestone

Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping has completed its 250th ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation, as the company’s fleet of LNG-powered ships continues to grow.

The firm said in a social media post on Tuesday that the milestone LNG bunkering operation took place in China.

EPS said that during the operation its managed 15,000 teu LNG dual-fuel containership, CMA CGM Hope, received LNG at Yangshan, Shanghai.

The 20,000-cbm bunkering vessel, Hai Gang Wei Lai, owned by China’s Shanghai SIPG Energy Service (SSES), delivered LNG fuel to the containership.

“This is a significant milestone for us, having started our first LNG bunkering operations four years ago,” EPS said.

EPS completed its first LNG bunkering operation in November 2020, the 50th operation in September 2022, the 100th operation in June 2023, the 150th operation and the 200th operation earlier this year.

The firm has a large fleet of LNG-powered vessels, including containerships, tankers, bulkers, and pure car and truck carriers.

This year, EPS ordered more LNG-powered containerships, LNG-powered PCTCs, and LR2 oil tankers in China.
