Thenamaris welcomes fifth LNG carrier in its fleet

Greece’s Thenamaris has taken delivery of a brand new liquefied natural gas tanker, increasing its fleet to a total of five LNG vessels.

The shipping firm said Thursday it welcomed the 174,000-cbm Cool Racer following completion at Hyundai Heavy’s Ulsan yard in South Korea.

The vessel is a sister ship to Cool Discoverer Hyundai delivered last year.

To remind, Thenamaris ordered the dual-fuel vessels at the Korean yard back in 2018.

Both of the newbuilds feature GTT’s Mark III Flex containment system and two WinGD XDF engines.

With this delivery, the Greek firm wrapped up its newbuild program of two LNG carriers.

Thenamaris did not provide any chartering details.

Besides these vessels, Thenamaris owns three 160,000-cbm TFDE carriers delivered in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
