Singapore’s Pavilion inks 6-year LNG supply deal with Chevron

US energy giant Chevron has signed a six-year deal to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a unit of Singapore’s Pavilion Energy.

Under the sale and purchase agreement, Temasek’s Pavilion Energy will buy 0.5 million tonnes of LNG per year to Singapore from 2023, according to a statement released on Monday.

Frédéric Barnaud, CEO of Pavilion Energy, and Law Tat Win, Chevron Singapore country chairman, signed the agreement.

Furthermore, each cargo delivered under this agreement will come with a statement of its greenhouse gas emissions measured from wellhead to discharge port, including LNG transportation, Pavilion said.

The new agreement follows a 10-year supply deal Pavilion Energy signed with Qatar Petroleum’s newly-established LNG trading unit in November which also included a GHG statement.

In addition to supplying LNG to Singapore, Pavilion Energy and its strategic partners will co-develop and implement a GHG quantification and reporting methodology for LNG, Pavilion said.

Moreover, the Singaporean firm added that it develops the methodology based on “internationally recognised standards.”
