Toyo Engineering India has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the topside facilities of the third Dahej jetty.
This includes unloading arms and other related equipment.
According to a statement by Toyo, the project is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2027.
Toyo did not provide any other information regarding the contract.
The firm said the new contract further strengthens the partnership between the two companies.
Toyo previously completed projects at Petronet’s Dahej LNG terminal.
Petronet operates the 17.5 mtpa Dahej LNG terminal and the 5 mtpa Kochi terminal in Kerala.
The company recently launched two 180,000 cbm LNG tanks at the Dahej terminal. These two tanks add to six existing storage tanks at the Dahej terminal with a total capacity of 932,000 cbm.
In addition, Petronet is currently expanding its Dahej LNG terminal with about 5 mtpa of new capacity,
The company’s executives confirmed during Petronet’s earnings call on October 24 that Petronet expects the 5 mtpa additional capacity at the Dahej terminal to be available by March 2025.
Regarding the third jetty, Petronet’s finance chief Vinod Mishra said in January during the company’s quarterly results the company expects it would take about 36 months to complete the jetty.
He said that this jetty would be diversified and able to import propane, ethane, as well as LNG, giving Petronet more flexibility in operations.
In June, Petronet selected compatriot ITD Cementation to build the third jetty.
ITD Cementation, a unit of the Italian-Thai Development Public Company, said in a statement it had secured a marine contract for constructing the third jetty and specified additional works at the Dahej LNG termina.
The company said the contract is worth about 10.82 billion Indian rupees ($128 million), including taxes and duties.
