Inoxcva bags Bahamas LNG terminal gig

Indian cryogenic tech firm Inoxcva has secured a contract from Island Power Producers to set up a mini LNG regasification terminal in the Bahamas.

According to a statement by Inocxva, the contract includes the turnkey design, engineering, and supply of the LNG receiving and regasification terminal.

Inoxcva did not provide the contract price.

The terminal will feed natural gas to IPP’s 60 MW combined cycle power plant, which being set to provide shore power to cruise ships at the Nassau Cruise Port.

Inoxcva said the terminal is expected to serve as a model distribution hub for smaller LNG users, supporting power generation, as well as other energy needs across the Bahamas.

The contract includes the supply of 10 vacuum-insulated storage tanks and a regasification system.

Also, each of the tanks will have a capacity of 1,500 cbm.

Inoxcva said these tanks will be the largest double-walled vacuum-insulated tanks ever made by the company, making it the biggest order ever received by its LNG business division.

Once commissioned, the mini LNG terminal will be capable of receiving LNG through smaller ships as well as reloading of LNG in ISO containers to service LNG users in the vicinity.

The contract for Inoxcva’s third and largest mini LNG terminal coincides with the completion of the second mini LNG terminal set up by Inoxcva in Antigua, the company said.
