Hoegh’s Lampung FSRU serving Pertamina’s Perusahaan Gas Negara off the southeast coast of Sumatra in Indonesia has completed its thirtieth ship-to-ship LNG transfer since 2014.
PGN LNG, a unit of PGN that operates the 2 mtpa floating LNG import facility offshore Lampung, said on Saturday the 138,000 cbm cargo arrived from Pertamina’s Bontang LNG terminal in East Kalimantan.
The firm said Indonesian power producer PLN secured the cargo, adding that the FSRU would wrap up the milestone transfer on March 1.
Besides the thirtieth transfer in total, this marks also the first LNG cargo for the FSRU this year, PGN’s LNG unit said.
It did not reveal the name of the vessel but shipping data shows that Sovcomflot’s 145,700 cbm Tangguh Batur delivered the cargo from Bontang.
The PGN FSRU Lampung received its first shipment back in July 2014. The number of cargoes it received over the period of almost seven years suggests that the regasification unit is significantly underutilized, working way below its capacity.
The vessel serves a 20-year charter deal PGN has with Norwegian floating player Hoegh. Hoegh manages the FSRU while its MLP Hoegh LNG Partners owns it.
Connected to a tower yoke mooring system, the FSRU delivers gas via a 21 km long offshore pipeline for power generation and industrial users in West Java.
