The agency said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 29 LNG vessels is 110 Bcf.
This compares to 27 shipments and 102 Bcf in the week ending January 8.
Natural gas deliveries climb
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.3 Bcf/d from last week to 15.4 Bcf/d.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana increased by 6.7 percent (0.6 Bcf/d) to 9.8 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas decreased by 8 percent (0.4 Bcf/d) to 4.4 Bcf/d.
The agency said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were unchanged at 1.2 Bcf/d.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped nine LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.
The Freeport LNG terminal sent five cargoes and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal each sent four shipments, while Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass, the Cove Point terminal, and the Elbas Island facility each sent two cargoes.
In addition, Venture Global LNG’s Plaeqmines lNG facility also sent one cargo during the week under review.
Henry Hub up
The agency said that the Henry Hub spot price rose 67 cents from $3.76 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $4.43/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The price of the February 2025 NYMEX contract increased 43 cents, from $3.651/MMBtu last Wednesday to $4.083/MMBtu this Wednesday.
EIA said the last time the front month contract settled above $4.00/MMBtu was on January 4, 2023, when it settled at $4.172/MMBtu.
The price of the 12-month strip averaging February 2025 through January 2026 futures contracts climbed 29 cents to $3.967/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $14/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures decreased this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia decreased 15 cents to a weekly average of $14.15/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands decreased 55 cents to a weekly average of $14/MMBtu.
The agency said that in the same week last year (week ending January 17, 2024), the prices were $10.51/MMBtu in East Asia and $9.62/MMBtu at TTF.
