Hudong nearing delivery of CMA CGM LNG giant, continues works on first Dynagas FSRU

Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua is progressing with works on both LNG-powered CMA CGM Concorde and the first Dynagas FSRU, in order to deliver the ships next month and later this year.

Concorde is the fourth out of five vessels Hudong is building for France’s CMA CGM while CSSC’s Jiangnan Shipyard is constructing four ULCVs in this batch of nine world’s largest LNG-powered vessels.

To remind, the LNG-powered ULCV returned to Hudong’s Shanghai Jiangnan-Changxing Shipyard on January 31 following the completion of its sea trials.

The 23,000 TEU vessel has started its gas trials, ahead of its delivery scheduled for April, according to Hudong.

In addition, Hudong said it has completed dry dock works on the 174,000-cbm Transgas Power, the first out of two FSRUs the yard is building for Greek shipping company Dynagas.

The Chinese yard undocked the FSRU on March 6 as it plans trials for the 294 meters long and 47 meters wide vessel.

Hudong launched this FSRU on March 30 last year, followed by the launch of its sister ship Transgas Force in December.

Both of the FSRUs feature three Wartsila regasification modules. Each regas unit will have a capacity of 250 million standard cubic feet per day. The rated send-out capacity is about 500 million standard cubic feet per day.

Furthermore, the FSRUs have powerful MAN dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion but also GTT’s NO96 containment system.

Hudong should deliver these FSRUs later this year.
