EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 26 LNG vessels is 98 Bcf.
This compares to 29 shipments and 110 Bcf in the week ending March 12.
Natural gas deliveries up
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.6 Bcf/d from last week to 16.4 Bcf/d.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana increased by 2 percent (0.2 Bcf/d) to 10.7 Bcf/d, and natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased by 8.7 percent (0.4 Bcf/d) to 4.5 Bcf/d.
EIA said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were essentially unchanged at 1.2 Bcf/d this week.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped eight LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.
Moreover, the Freeport LNG terminal sent four cargoes, while Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal and Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines and Calcasieu Pass terminals each sent three shipments.
In addition, the Cove Point terminal also shipped one shipment.
The Elba Island facility did not ship LNG during the week under review.
Henry Hub up
EIA said that the Henry Hub spot price rose 3 cents from $4.19 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $4.22/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The price of the April 2025 NYMEX contract increased 16 cents, from $4.084/MMBtu last Wednesday to $4.247/MMBtu yesterday.
EIA said the price of the 12-month strip averaging April 2025 through March 2026 futures contracts climbed 18 cents to $4.798/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $13.41/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures were mixed this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia decreased 25 cents to a weekly average of $13.47/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands increased 40 cents to a weekly average of $13.41/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending March 20, 2024), the prices were $9.27/MMBtu in East Asia and $8.84/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
