EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 27 LNG vessels is 102 Bcf.
This compares to 34 shipments and 129 Bcf in the week ending April 16.
Natural gas deliveries drop
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals decreased 0.7 Bcf/d from last week to 16.1 Bcf/d.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana decreased 6.7 percent (0.7 Bcf/d) to 10.3 Bcf/d, and natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas were essentially unchanged this week, averaging 4.6 Bcf/d.
EIA said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast were essentially unchanged at 1.2 Bcf/d this week.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped eight LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.
Moreover, the Freeport LNG terminal and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal each sent four cargoes, and Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines shipped three cargoes.
In addition, Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass and the Cove Point terminal each sent two shipments, while the Elba Island facility did not export LNG during the week under review.
Henry Hub down
EIA said that the Henry Hub spot price fell 28 cents from $3.21 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $2.93/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The price of the May 2025 NYMEX contract decreased 23 cents, from $3.247/MMBtu last Wednesday to $3.022/MMBtu this Wednesday.
Also, the price of the 12-month strip averaging May 2025 through April 2026 futures contracts declined 17 cents to $3.756/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $11.35/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures were mixed this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia decreased 50 cents to a weekly average of $11.90/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands increased 33 cents to a weekly average of $11.68/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending April 24, 2024), the prices were $10.51/MMBtu in East Asia and $9.38/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
