Greek LNG carrier owner GasLog expects 2025 to be its busiest year for repairs, with a total of 12 vessels scheduled for drydocking maintenance, spread across shipyards worldwide.
GasLog said in a social media post on Tuesday that the yards include Navantia in Spain, MMHE Shipyard in Malaysia, Yiu Lian Dockyards in Shekou, China, and Besiktas Shipyard in Türkiye.
“Currently, we are in the midst of executing our 2025 drydock plan with GasLog Saratoga and GasLog Windsor being the first vessels to have completed their fresh new look out of drydock and ready to sail the world,” the company said.
Moreover, the drydocking and second special survey of the 155,000-cbm GasLog Saratoga at Yiu Lian Dockyards was a “significant” milestone, marking the first repair of a GasLog vessel at a Chinese shipyard.
The 180,000-cbm GasLog Windsor finished its dry dock and first special survey at the Navantia yard.
During this drydocking, the vessel implemented technical upgrades aimed at enhancing the vessel’s carbon footprint, according to GasLog.
These upgrades included advanced silicone antifouling coatings, modifications to tank isolation piping, increased filling limits, and ultrasound fouling removal systems for propeller.
The 155,000-cbm GasLog Salem has completed its dry dock and second special survey at Yiu Lian Dockyards, whereas the 180,000-cbm GasLog Wales has also completed its first special survey at the MMHE yard.
“Looking ahead, we anticipate a busy second and third quarter, with a total of eight vessels scheduled for docking,” GasLog said.
According to the GasLog website, the fleets of both GasLog and GasLog Partners consist of 38 LNG carriers, with two vessels under construction in South Korea.
In addition, China’s Jiangnan Shipyard recently signed a letter of intent with GasLog to build two LNG carriers, according to shipbuilding sources.
