Exelon’s Annova LNG said Monday it decided to discontinue the development of its proposed 6.5 mtpa liquefaction facility in Brownsville, Texas.
The project developer cited “changes in the global LNG market” as the reason behind the decision, but it did not provide any additional information.
“The entire Annova team is very grateful to the greater Brownsville community for having supported this project for several years,” the company said.
“We are in the process of notifying our supporters, commercial partners and regulatory agencies of this decision,” it said.
Besides majority owner Exelon Corporation, Annova LNG minority stakeholders include Black & Veatch, Kiewit Energy, and Enbridge.
