Australian LNG player Santos has signed two separate, non-binding LNG agreements that underscore the company’s growing global LNG portfolio position. Santos entered into a non-binding heads of agreement to buy LNG from the Ksi Lisims LNG project in Canada and the company agreed key commercial terms with South Korea's Posco Steel to supply the latter with LNG.
South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has secured approval in principle from classification society DNV for its new 271,000-cbm LNG carrier design.
US FSRU player Excelerate Energy confirmed that it has signed a seven-year charter agreement with a unit of Canadian firm Frontera Energy to deploy its FSRU to a new LNG import terminal under development in Colombia. Excellerate also confirmed that it purchased a TFDE LNG carrier to convert it to an FSRU.
Greek shipowner Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) has ordered one liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier from South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.
