Himalaya’s LNG-fueled bulkers earned $34,500 per day in June

LNG-powered bulker owner Himalaya Shipping achieved average time charter equivalent earnings of about $34,500 per day in June.

The shipping firm said in a commercial update that the average time charter rate includes average daily scrubber and LNG benefits on 12 vessels of about $1,000 per day.

Tor Olav Trøim-backed Himalaya said the company’s two vessels trading on fixed-time charters earned about $32,100 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber and LNG benefits.

The company’s ten vessels trading on index-linked time charters earned approximately $35,000 per day, gross, including average daily scrubber and LNG benefits.

The Baltic 5TC Capesize Index averaged $24,076 during June 2025.

Himalaya’s board has approved a cash distribution of $0.05 per share for June.

The company has 12 LNG-powered Newcastlemax bulk carriers in its fleet.

China’s New Times delivered Himalaya’s final bulk carrier, Mount Emai, in June 2024.

In March, Himalaya completed a private placement of $15 million in new shares.

Himalaya said the purpose of the placement was to “attract key, strategic shareholders to the company, and to raise proceeds to be used for general corporate purposes.”
