EIA said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, that the total capacity of these 30 LNG vessels is 113 Bcf.
This compares to 28 LNG vessels and 104 Bcf in the week ending July 30.
Natural gas deliveries up
According to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights, average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.9 Bcf/d from last week to 16.3 Bcf/d.
Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana increased 4.7 percent (0.5 Bcf/d) to 11.1 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased by 12.5 percent (0.5 Bcf/d) to 4.1 Bcf/d.
EIA said natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast decreased 5 percent (0.1 Bcf/d) to 1.1 Bcf/d this week.
During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped eight LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent five shipments.
Moreover, the Freeport LNG terminal sent five cargoes, Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines terminal shipped four cargoes, while Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass facility and Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal each sent three cargoes.
Also, the Cove Point terminal sent two shipments, and the Elba Island facility did not send cargoes during the week under review due to maintenance.
Henry Hub climbs
EIA reported that the Henry Hub spot price rose 4 cents from $2.98 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $3.02/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The price of the September 2025 NYMEX contract increased 3 cents, from $3.045/MMBtu last Wednesday to $3.077/MMBtu this Wednesday.
The agency said that the price of the 12-month strip averaging September 2025 through August 2026 futures contracts increased 1 cent to $3.760/MMBtu.
TTF averaged $11.61/MMBtu
The agency said that international natural gas futures increased this report week.
Bloomberg Finance reported that average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased 5 cents to a weekly average of $11.99/MMBtu.
Natural gas futures for delivery at the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands increased 28 cents to a weekly average of $11.61/MMBtu.
In the same week last year (week ending August 7, 2024), the prices were $12.50/MMBtu in East Asia and $11.78/MMBtu at TTF, EIA said.
