US weekly LNG exports drop to 21 cargoes

The US exported twenty-one LNG shipments in the week ending April 7, while feed gas deliveries to liquefaction plants averaged 11.7 billion cubic feet.

Compared to the last week, natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants rose 0.09 Bcf/d while shipments dropped by three, EIA’s weekly natural gas report shows.

In addition, LNG pipeline receipts increased by 30% when compared to the same period last year, the agency said.

As per the Henry Hub spot price, it fell from $2.49/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.38/MMBtu two days ago, 2¢/MMBtu above the weekly low of $2.36 set on Tuesday, EIA said.

Looking at the weekly shipments, six US terminals dispatched the twenty-one cargoes during the week of April 1-7. The total capacity of LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 76 Bcf.

This compares to twenty-four LNG cargoes with the vessels’ capacity of 87 Bcf in the week before.

Furthermore, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant dispatched eight shipments in the week under review, while its Corpus Christi plant sent four cargoes.

Cameron shipped four cargoes as well, Freeport three, while Cove Point and Elba Island dispatched one cargo, each.
