1) UK-based LNG giant Shell decided not to participate in the 10 mtpa phase of the YPF-led Argentina LNG project for which it signed a project development agreement in December 2024, a Shell spokesperson confirmed to LNG Prime on Thursday. However, Shell continues to see Argentina as a “potentially attractive growth market for LNG export.”
2) A 2003-built steam liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, owned by Seapeak, has been sold for demolition, according to brokers.
3) Glenfarne’s Texas LNG, the developer of the planned 4 mtpa LNG export terminal in the port of Brownsville, has signed a 20-year sales and purchase deal with a unit of Macquarie.
4) Turkiye’s state-owned natural gas and LNG firm Botas has signed 10-year deals to buy LNG from Italian energy firm Eni and German gas importer SEFE.
5) US LNG exporting giant Cheniere is seeking authorization from the US FERC to increase the LNG production capacity of nine midscale trains at its Corpus Christi LNG plant in Texas.
