GTT gets LR OK for LNG fuel tank

China's Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has secured approval in principle from classification society Lloyd's Register for a new 12,500-cbm LNG bunkering vessel design.

Classification society Lloyd’s Register has secured a contract from Dutch services company Dixstone, a unit of London-based oil and gas firm Perenco, to deliver classification and technical assurance for the conversion of an LNG carrier into a floating storage unit (FSU) for the Gabon project.

French LNG containment giant GTT expects approximately 550 orders for large LNG carriers over the next ten years, according to chief executive Francois Michel.

French LNG containment giant GTT received orders for 56 liquefied natural gas carriers, two very large ethane carriers, one FSRU, and five LNG storage tanks in the first half of this year, while its revenue decreased 0.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
