EIA said in its weekly natural gas storage report that the LNG-carrying capacity of vessels departing US ports was 115 Bcf, down 18 Bcf from the previous week.
Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped seven LNG cargoes, and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent five shipments during the week ending April 29, according to the report.
Moreover, Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines terminal sent seven cargoes, while the Freeport LNG facility sent four cargoes, and Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass facility shipped three cargoes.
Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal and the Cove Point facility each shipped two cargoes, while the Elba Island facility did not export cargoes during the week under review.
The agency said that LNG feedgas averaged 17.4 Bcf/d over the past week, a 7 percent (1.2 Bcf/d) decrease compared with last week per LSEG data, in part due to planned maintenance at various terminals.
Henry Hub climbs
EIA reported that the Henry Hub spot price rose by 15 cents from $2.60/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.75/MMBtu this Wednesday.
Total US Lower 48 demand for natural gas averaged 57.7 Bcf this past Monday, according to LSEG data, the lowest of 2026 to date.
EIA said slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures across most of the country helped limit heating and cooling needs.
Total US natural gas demand across sectors excluding LNG fell by 0.7 Bcf/d (1 percent) compared with last week, according to LSEG data.
EIA said this decrease was led by a 1.2 Bcf/d (4 percent) decrease in power sector consumption.
TTF averaged $15.85/MMBtu
EIA said that the price at the Dutch Title Transfer Facility in Europe averaged $15.85/MMBtu, 44 cents higher than the previous week.
Moreover, the Japan-Korea Marker price averaged $16.90/MMBtu, 31 cents higher than the previous week.
This week’s TTF and JKM prices were 44 percent and 59 percent higher, respectively, than prices for the week ending February 25, the last full week before the disruption of LNG deliveries through the Strait of Hormuz, EIA said.
