Last month, Awilco LNG announced plans to change its name to ALNG following the establishment of a trading and structuring platform, as it transforms from a pure LNG shipping company into a more integrated participant in the LNG value chain.
Awilco LNG’s CEO Jon Skule Storheill also stepped down from the position.
The firm held its annual general meeting on Wednesday, which approved an amendment to the articles of association to change the company’s name to ALNG ASA.
Awilco LNG is currently in the process of registering the name change.
Besides the name change, Anders Onarheim was elected as a new member and chairman of the company’s board of directors.
In addition, the company said in a separate statement that Nygaard has been appointed interim CEO with immediate effect.
Nygaard has served on the company’s board of directors from 2020 until the AGM in 2026.
“Up until resuming the position as interim CEO, he has served as managing director of Awilco AS since 2012 and brings extensive leadership and industry experience from senior roles within the Awilco group, including being a director of the board in Integrated Wind Solutions ASA,” the company said.
He has “broad experience” over more than 20 years from shipping, corporate management, finance, and strategic development, the company added.
