NV5 secures another US LNG contract

US engineering firm NV5 Global said Monday it won a contract to provide an LNG truck loading system to a “major Southeast utility.”

The contract has a price tag of about $7 million, the US firm said in a statement, but it did not reveal the name of the utility.

The new truck loading and unloading system would allow the utility to transfer LNG from the existing peak shaving facility to other LNG plants and directly to customers by tanker truck, it said.

In addition, the system will have the capability to unload LNG from tankers into the facility’s storage tank as a backup to the plant’s liquefaction equipment.

Under the contract, NV5 will provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the new truck loading system.

Moreover, NV5 said it has already started working on the system and expects to complete the project in April 2022.

The new contract follows a $23 million LNG vaporization replacement contract from a “major Midwest utility.” NV5 plans to complete this contract in November 2022.
