Swedish shipping company Thun Tankers has taken delivery of the third in a series of four E-class oil and chemical LNG-powered tankers from Dutch yard Ferus Smit.
Goteborg-based Thun Tankers, a part of the Erik Thun Group and a member of Sweden’s Gothia Tanker Alliance, said it welcomed the vessel on Monday.
Thun Equality, which can go on LNG but also bio-LNG, will be trading within the Gothia Tanker Alliance network.
The Swedish shipping firm already operates two such vessels, namely Thun Eos and Thun Evolve, both working mostly in Scandinavian waters under long-time charters.
Thun Tankers previously said it expected to take delivery of the fourth vessel in the last quarter of this year.
The 7999 dwt ice-class 1A ships feature a Wartsila dual-fuel main engine that can operate on LNG or gas oil. The vessels are about 115 meters long and 15.8 meters wide.
