South Korean shipowner Hyundai LNG Shipping has ordered one LNG carrier from compatriot shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.
The contract for the 174,000-cbm LNG carrier has a price tag of 216.9 billion won ($195.2 million), DSME said in a statement on Monday.
In addition, the Korean shipbuilder will deliver the vessel by the fourth quarter of 2023.
DSME said the vessel would feature MAN ME-GI propulsion and a reliquefaction system.
Hyundai LNG Shipping will charter the vessel to Spain’s Repsol under a long-term deal, the statement said.
DSME has this year won $2.74 billion in orders for 26 ships. These include 11 very large crude carriers, nine LPG carriers, four containerships, one LNG carrier, and one wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV).
