Six players submit lowest bids in Pakistan LNG tender

Six international firms have submitted the lowest bids in a tender to supply Pakistan with nine spot LNG cargoes over the July-August period.

The state-owned Pakistan LNG launched the tender last month with nine delivery windows.

Nine companies took part in the tender. Vitol Bahrain submitted the lowest offers for three cargoes, while Qatar Petroleum’s trading unit placed the lowest offer for two cargoes.

Trafigura, Eni, BP Singapore and DXT Commodities submitted the lowest offers for one cargo, each, Pakistan LNG’s evaluation report dated June 2 shows.

Moreover, the report says that Vitol’s unit in Bahrain submitted the most competitive bids for the July 12-13 delivery, August 12-13, and August 17-18. The trader offered prices in the range of $11.6612/MMBtu to $10.7451/MMBtu for the deliveries.

QP Trading would deliver one cargo on August 2-3 with a price tag of $10.5220/MMBtu and the second on August 7-8 priced at $10.5100/MMBtu, according to the report.

The prices for the other four cargoes range from $11.7747/MMBtu Trafigura offered for the July 8-9 delivery to $10.2937/MMBtu BP offered for the July 28-29 delivery.

The tender winners would deliver the cargoes to the FSRU BW integrity serving Pakistan GasPort’s terminal in Port Qasim, Karachi.
