Eidesvik secures contract for LNG-powered PSV

Norwegian shipping company Eidesvik Offshore said it has won a charter contract from compatriot energy firm Aker BP for one of its LNG-powered PSVs.

The dual-fueled 2012-built Viking Prince would start the new contract with Aker BP in August this year. The contract is for a period of about 100 days.

Eidesvik said it has secured the new deal under the current frame agreement for a drilling campaign.

It did not reveal any additional information regarding the contract.

The LNG-powered vessel already works for Aker BP under a time charter deal which started in April this year.

According to Eidesvik’s website, the offshore vessel owner has five LNG-powered PSVs in its fleet.
