LNG shipper GasLog Partners said it has signed a new time charter agreement with US LNG exporter Cheniere.
The limited partnership controlled by Greece-based GasLog has signed a one-year time charter with a unit of Cheniere for the 2007-built 145,000-cbm Methane Heather Sally.
GasLog partners said the charter began last week. Cheniere has the option, until late August, to extend the charter for an additional one or two years.
The LNG carrier previously operated in the spot market.
Paul Wogan, chief executive of GasLog Partners said the deal “deepens” the company’s relationship with one of the world’s leading LNG producers but it also marks the partnership’s third new multi-month charter agreement in recent weeks.
“The execution of this charter on attractive terms further improves our revenue and cash flow visibility and bolsters our deleveraging strategy for 2021,” Wogan said.
The partnership’s fleet consists of 15 LNG carriers with an average carrying capacity of about 158,000 cbm.
