US weekly LNG exports drop to 17 cargoes

The US exported 17 LNG shipments in the week ending June 23, while feed gas deliveries to liquefaction plants averaged 10 billion cubic feet.

Compared to the last week, natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants rose by 0.54 Bcf/d as shipments dropped by one, the Energy Information Administration said in its weekly natural gas report.

Six US terminals dispatched the 17 cargoes during the week of June 17-June 23. The total capacity of LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 62 Bcf.

This compares to 65 Bcf in the week before and 18 shipments.

In addition, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant dispatched five cargoes in the week under review, while its Corpus Christi plant sent four cargoes.

Freeport also shipped four cargoes as two shipments departed from the Cameron facility and one each from Cove Point and Elba Island.

The Henry Hub spot price rose from $3.17 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $3.33/MMBtu on June 23.
