China’s LGM Engineering to supply LNG fuel systems for two bitumen tankers

Gloryholder Liquefied Gas Machinery (LGM Engineering) said it would supply LNG fuel systems for two bitumen and oil product tankers currently under construction in China.

China’s Wuhu is building two 21,500-dwt LNG-powered tankers for Thailand-based Tipco Asphalt, according to LGM Engineering.

The FKAB-designed vessels feature dual-fuel propulsion but also a power battery pack. Moreover, the main four-stroke DF engine will be capable to run on either LNG or LBG.

LGM Engineering said in a statement it has secured the contract in May but it did not reveal the price tag of the deal.

The Chinese firm will provide an EPC delivery of the LNG fuel system package for the vessels.

In addition, the scope of supply includes two sets type C LNG fuel tanks, LNG bunkering stations, water/glycol system ESD system as well as system commissioning, gas trail, and crew training.

LGM Engineering said it would deliver the equipment to Wuhu in 2022.
