South Korean shipbuilders Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Samho have won orders to build four LNG carriers.
Parent firm Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering revealed the contracts in two separate filings to the stock exchange on Wednesday.
HHI will build two LNG carriers for about 453.6 billion won ($394 million).
Moreover, the yard would deliver the vessels to a Bermuda-based firm by September 2025, KSOE said in a filing, but it did not provide any additional information.
Under the second deal, Hyundai Samho will construct two LNG carriers for a European owner.
This deal has a price tag of 457.6 billion won ($397.7 million), KSOE said.
Hyundai Samho will also deliver the LNG carriers by September 2025.
Worth mentioning here, Russia’s Sovcomflot said last week it would charter two additional 174,000-cbm LNG carriers to French energy giant TotalEnergies for a period of up to seven years.
Sovcomflot said that TotalEnergies has decided to exercise its option for the two carriers as part of a contract the duo revealed in January this year. Under this contract, Hyundai Samho will deliver one 174,000-cbm LNG carrier to Sovcomflot and Total.
