Australia’s Ventia scores LNG maintenance contract from Chevron

Australia’s Ventia said it has won a 10-year maintenance contract with Chevron for works in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Ventia said in a statement it would deliver front-line and campaign maintenance, brownfield execution scopes and turnaround events at Chevron-operated natural gas facilities in Western Australia.

The firm did not provide any additional information on the facilities but Chevron’s giant Gorgon LNG project and the Wheatstone facility are located in the Pilbara region.

Moreover, Ventia expects annual revenue of about A$100 million or a total of about A$1billion ($745 million) over the course of the long-term contract.

The works will start in the third quarter of this year.

“We anticipate the roles required to service orders under this contract will peak at more than 700 jobs; and it is Ventia’s intention to fill as many of these roles as possible from local, regional, and Western Australian candidates,” Dean Banks, Ventia CEO, said.

In addition, Ventia plans to source about 50% of its subcontracted services from regional businesses in north-west Western Australia, he said.
