Hudong delivers first FSRU to Dynagas

China’s Hudong-Zhonghua has delivered the first out of two LNG FSRUs it is building for Greek shipping company Dynagas.

The delivery ceremony for the 174,000-cbm Transgas Power took place at Hudong’s yard on Changxing Island, Shanghai on Thursday, according to the shipbuilder.

To remind, Dynagas named the first Chinese-built floating storage and regasification unit last month.

Brokers have previously reported that the FSRU would go on a one-year charter to France’s TotalEnergies.

Hudong said in May that the 294 meters long and 47 meters wide FSRU had completed its gas trials.

CSSC’s unit Hudong launched this FSRU on March 30 last year, followed by the float out of its sister ship Transgas Force in December.

Both of the vessels feature three Wartsila regasification modules. Each regas unit will have a capacity of 250 million standard cubic feet per day. The rated send-out capacity is about 500 million standard cubic feet per day.

Moreover, the FSRUs have MAN dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion but also GTT’s NO96 containment system.
