US boosts LNG exports

The United States exported more LNG cargoes in the week ending April 15 when compared to the week before.

The Energy Information Administration said in its weekly report that four US terminals dispatched 17 cargoes between April 9 and April 15.

The total capacity of the LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 61 billion cubic feet.

This compares to twelve LNG ships with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 42 billion cubic feet the week before.

Out of the 17 LNG shipments, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant in Louisiana shipped seven cargoes while additional four cargoes left the company’s Corpus Christi terminal in Texas.

The Sempra-led Cameron LNG facility and the Freeport LNG terminal shipped three cargoes, each.

The amount of gas flowing to US LNG export plants eased to 8.5 billion cubic feet during the week under review from the 8.6 bcfd recorded the week before, EIA data shows.
