US LNG exports drop to 16 cargoes

The US exported 16 LNG shipments in the week ending August 18, while feed gas deliveries to liquefaction plants averaged 10.7 billion cubic feet.

Compared to the last week, natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants rose by 0.9 Bcf/d as shipments declined by five, the Energy Information Administration said in its weekly natural gas report.

Five US terminals dispatched the 16 cargoes during the week of August 12-18. The total capacity of LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 57 Bcf.

This compares to 77 Bcf in the week before and 21 shipments.

Also, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant dispatched five cargoes in the week under review, while its Corpus Christi plant sent three cargoes.

Freeport shipped four cargoes and Cameron sent three cargoes, as one shipment departed from the Cove Point facility.

The Henry Hub spot price dropped from $4.07/MMBtu last Wednesday to a weekly low of $3.86/MMBtu two days ago, the agency said.
