GasLog adds another LNG tanker to its fleet

South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries has completed another LNG vessel for Greece-based shipping firm GasLog.

The yard held a virtual naming ceremony for the 180,000-cbm GasLog Winchester on August 17, according to a statement by the Greek company led by Peter Livanos.

To remind, GasLog said last month it would take delivery of this LNG carrier in August.

GasLog Winchester is the last ship in a series of four that will serve US LNG exporter Cheniere under long-term contracts.

Equipped with WinGD’s dual-fuel propulsion, the vessel also features GTT’s Mark III Flex Plus containment system.

The quartet Samsung built for GasLog included two 174,000-cbm and two 180,000-cbm vessels.

GasLog took delivery of the third vessel, the 180,000-cbm GasLog Wellington, in May.
