US LNG exports rise to 18 shipments

The US exported 18 LNG shipments in the week ending August 25, while feed gas deliveries to liquefaction plants averaged 10.5 billion cubic feet.

Compared to the last week, natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants dropped by 0.2 Bcf/d as shipments rose by two, the Energy Information Administration said in its weekly natural gas report.

Six US terminals exported the 18 cargoes during the week of August 19-25. The total capacity of LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 67 Bcf.

This compares to 57 Bcf in the week before and 16 shipments.

Also, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant dispatched six cargoes in the week under review, while its Corpus Christi plant sent four cargoes.

Freeport and Cameron sent three cargoes, each, as one shipment departed from the Cove Point facility but also the Elba Island plant.

The Henry Hub spot price rose from $3.86/MMBtu last Wednesday to a weekly high of $4.01/MMBtu two days ago, the agency said.
