Eastern Pacific Shipping books four new LNG PCTCs in China

Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping has booked four new LNG-powered pure truck and car carriers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Weihai.

Idan Ofer’s EPS has already ordered four LNG-powered PCTC’s in June from the Chinese yard.

Both of the orders include options for two vessels, boosting the total up to 12 LNG-powered ships.

Jinling said in a statement the duo had signed the new deal via a video call on August 30.

The 200 meters long vessels will have a total car capacity of 7,000 units. In addition, each ship will feature two 2,000-cbm LNG tanks, according to the yard.

Jinling did not reveal the price tag or the delivery date of the LNG-powered PCTCs.

According to the EPS website, the yard should deliver all of the eight vessels in 2024-2025.
