LNG Croatia shuts Krk terminal for maintenance

State-owned terminal operator LNG Croatia said it has closed the Krk facility in the northern Adriatic Sea for its first maintenance turnaround since it started operations on January 1 this year.

“Starting from October 1, 2021 and for a period of 14 days, it will not be possible to use the jetty or regasification services due to the performance of regular annual maintenance work,” LNG Croatia said in a statement.

“According to the plan, the terminal should finish its maintenance work and start with regular operations on October 15, 2021 at 6:00 a.m.,” it said.

LNG Croatia did not provide any additional information.

The terminal includes the 140,000-cbm LNG Croatia FSRU, a jetty, and the connecting gas pipeline. It has the capacity to send up to 2.6 bcm per year of natural gas into the national grid.

To remind, the FSRU recently received an LNG cargo onboard the 174,000-cbm SCF Barents.

This shipment marked the 13th LNG cargo since the start of operations at the Krk facility on January 1 but also the eighth shipment from the US.

The LNG Croatia FSRU has also received two cargoes from Qatar and Nigeria, each, and one from Belgium’s Zeebrugge.
