Woodside awards new LNG services contract to Worley

Australian LNG player Woodside has awarded a new contract to compatriot engineering firm Worley to support the Karratha gas plant and Pluto LNG assets in Western Australia.

According to a statement by Worley, the deal is a two-year extension to a non-binding frame agreement the two firms established in 2018.

The agreement covers brownfield engineering services including engineering studies and technical support.

It also includes front-end engineering and detailed design services for sustaining capital projects, procurement, commissioning, project management and construction, and shutdown management, Worley said.

Worley’s Perth office with support from its global integrated delivery team in India would execute the services, the firm said.

The ASX-listed firm did not provide financial details of the new agreement.

The Karratha gas plant has five LNG trains with a capacity of 16.9 million tonnes per year while Pluto LNG currently has a single 4.9 mtpa processing train.
