GTT scores order for Chinese LNG tank

France’s GTT has won a contract for one onshore tank as part of the Hejian LNG peak shaving plant in the northern Chinese province of Hebei.

GTT secured the deal from the plant’s EPC contractor CPECCNC, a unit of China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corp.

Chinese state-owned energy giant CNPC is a parent of the engineering company.

It is building a 29,000-cbm liquefied natural gas tank for peak shaving purposes in the city of Hejian.

Under the deal, GTT said it would design the membrane inner tank, which will feature its GST technology.

GTT did not reveal the value of the deal.

The LNG tank is expected to be commissioned during the second half of 2021, it said.
