GTT inks services deal to support Fleet Management

French LNG containment specialist GTT has signed a global technical services deal with the Hong-Kong based Fleet Management.

Under the deal, GTT will support the ship management company’s vessels with shipbuilding supervision, maintenance and operation.

GTT said on Thursday the deal includes technical assistance for inspection, maintenance, repairs, operations and engineering services.

Furthermore, the Hong-Kong firm will have access to GTT’s emergency hotline enabling it to contact the latter’s experts 24/7.

Fleet Management is currently supervising the newbuilding of six very large ethane carriers under construction in South Korea.

Additionally, the Hong-Kong firm launched the first of these ethane-gas powered vessels Chang Xiu in June.

These vessels will feature GTT Mark III technology with deliveries scheduled in October 2020 onwards.

GTT’s CEO Philippe Berterottiere said the company was “very pleased” to partner with Fleet Management supporting its growing development within the ethane and LNG shipping business.

The support includes both the construction stage as well as during fleet operation, he added.
