US weekly LNG exports low

US weekly LNG exports are still at low levels as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to destroy demand all over the globe and push down prices.

EIA said in its weekly gas natural gas report that three US terminals dispatched only seven LNG cargoes during the week July 16-July 22.

The total capacity of the LNG vessels carrying these cargoes is 25 billion cubic feet.

This represents a rise when compared to record low four LNG ships with a combined capacity of 15 billion cubic feet the week before.

But the utilization of US terminals is still at very low levels with some facilities not shipping cargoes at all.

Sempra’s Cameron LNG terminal in Louisiana dispatched three shipments in the week under review.

Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant in Louisiana and Dominion’s Cove Point plant in Maryland shipped two cargoes, each.

Natural gas deliveries to US LNG export plants increased to 3.7 billion cubic feet per day from the 3.3 Bcf/d recorded the week before, EIA data shows.

The Henry Hub spot price dropped from $1.71 per million British thermal units last Wednesday to $1.64/MMBtu recorded this Wednesday.
