Another Swedish LNG-powered tanker launched

China Merchants Jinling shipyard launched the seventh LNG-powered vessel ordered by Sweden’s Gothia Tanker Alliance.

Swedish shipowner Furetank, a member of the alliance, will commercially manage the 17,999 dwt vessel named Fure Vinga.

The alliance members ordered in total eight dual-fueled product and chemical tankers at the yard previously known as AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding.

Besides Furetank, the vessel owners include Alvtank and Thun Tankers. Alvtank received the sixth ship out of this batch back in September 2019.

The medium-sized tankers feature LNG propulsion and battery backup as well.

Each of the FKAB-designed ice class ships will be 149 meters long and 22.8 meters wide.
