Croatian FSRU receives another LNG cargo

Croatia’s first and only floating storage and regasification unit, located at the Krk facility in the northern Adriatic Sea, has received another cargo of LNG.

The 2008-built 155,000-cbm British Sapphire, chartered by BP, docked at the 140,000-cbm FSRU on Sunday, according to the state-owned operator LNG Croatia.

This marks the fourth LNG carrier arrival in the gas year 2021/2022 and the seventeenth since the start of commercial operations on January 1.

LNG Croatia said the vessel would depart from Krk on Tuesday, but it did not provide any additional information.

Prior to delivering the cargo to the FSRU, the LNG carrier loaded the shipment at the Freeport LNG terminal in the US, its AIS data shows.

The LNG Croatia FSRU previously received eight cargoes from the US, and with this shipment, the total number reached nine US cargoes.

The FSRU also received two cargoes from Qatar and Nigeria, each, and one each from Trinidad and Tobago and Egypt. It also received one cargo each from the Zeebrugge and Dunkirk facilities.

Croatia’s first LNG terminal has the capacity to send up to 2.6 bcm per year of natural gas into the national grid.

MET, Hungary’s MFGK, and Qatar’s PowerGlobe have booked almost all of the volumes at the Krk facility for the next three years.
