Gasum gets new CEO

Finland-based LNG and LBG supplier Gasum has appointed Mika Wiljanen as the company’s new chief executive officer.

Gasum launched a search for a new CEO on September 1 after Johanna Lamminen decided to step down from the position.

The company’s finance chief Kai Laitinen currently serves as interim CEO.

In a statement on Wednesday, Gasum said Wiljanen would take up the CEO position on March 1, 2022.

Wiljanen has served as chief executive of St1 Oy since 2010, driving the company “persistently towards renewable energy solutions,” it said.

At the same time, he has served St1 also in other senior positions in the Nordics including as CEO of St1 Norge AS and St1 Finance Oy.

In addition, he has a long track record in international senior management tasks in the energy industry, including time at Shell, Gasum said.
