Solstad secures Woodside gig in Australia

Norway-based vessel owner Solstad Offshore said it has won a contract from Australian LNG player Woodside to provide one of its platform supply vessels.

Under the deal, the 2014-built PSV Normand Tortuga would provide support activities with the DPS-1 semisubmersible on the Enfield P&A and Scarborough projects for a firm period of 572 days, Solstad said in a statement.

In addition, the deal includes options available to Woodside thereafter, the firm said.

The PSV would start work late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of 2022 next year, Solstad said, but it did not provide any additional information.

Woodside took a final investment decision last month on the Scarborough and Pluto LNG Train 2 developments worth about $12 billion.

The approval also includes new domestic gas facilities and modifications to the first Pluto 4.9 mtpa train on Western Australia’s Burrup Peninsula.

Pluto Train 2 will process gas from the Scarborough offshore gas resource and have a capacity of about 5 mtpa.
