French engineer GTT has won a new contract from South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering to design tanks for two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers.
The vessels would feature GTT’s NO96 GW membrane containment system, GTT said in a statement on Monday.
DSME would deliver the vessels to an unidentified owner during the first half of 2025, GTT said, but it did not provide any additional information.
This order comes just days after GTT said it had secured an order from DSME for four LNG carriers.
This puts the total to six 174,000-cbm LNG carriers.
DSME said on December 1 it won orders for six 174,000-cbm LNG carriers from two owners worth about $1.26 billion.
The yard said it would build four LNG carriers for one owner and two for the other firm.
After that, Peter Livanos-led GasLog said it had ordered four 174,000-cbm LNG carriers at DSME. These LNG carriers will join GasLog’s fleet in 2024 and 2025.
