Greek shipping firm Maran Gas, a unit of Angelicoussis Shipping Group, has taken delivery of five new LNG carriers during this year, as it continues to expand its large fleet of vessels.
South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering handed over the 174,000-cbm LNG carrier Isabella to Maria Angelicoussis-led Maran Gas in July this year.
This marked the first vessel with WinGD’s X-DF propulsion to join the Maran Gas fleet.
Moreover, Maran Gas took delivery of its sister vessels Maran Gas Kalymnos in September and Maran Gas Ithaca in October, Angelicoussis said in a social media post on Tuesday.
The shipping giant also welcomed two ME-GI vessels, Yiannis and Maran Gas Amorgos, in September and November respectively, it said.
Maran Gas has currently 43 LNG carriers in operation, including one FSRU, according to its website.
On top of this, the firm has seven 174,000-cbm LNG carriers on order and scheduled for delivery from 2022-2024, the data shows.
The firm recently ordered two LNG carriers at DSME for about $411 million.
