Chart bags small-scale LNG orders

US LNG equipment specialist Chart Industries said it has secured orders for four liquefaction projects with four different customers over the past week.

Besides three LNG liquefaction projects, Chart also won an order for a 15 ton per day hydrogen liquefier in North America with a new hydrogen liquefaction customer.

These orders have a price tag of more than 120 million, Chart said in a statement on Wednesday.

Additionally, this past week the US firm received releases on engineering work or limited notice to proceed on two of the big LNG export terminal projects expected to proceed to final investment decision in 2022.

Chart did not reveal any additional information regarding these two large LNG export terminals.

The firm previously said that, depending on a final decision, it would provide equipment for the first phase of Tellurian’s Driftwood LNG project, Cheniere’s Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion, and Venture Global’s Plaquemines facility.

Bio-LNG in Europe and two US plants

As per the small-scale LNG liquefaction projects, Chart said it won an order with its European customer, Verbio.

Under this deal, Chart would supply a 60,000 ton bio-LNG liquefaction facility and associated station infrastructure for 20 bio-LNG stations, it said.

Furthermore, Chart won contracts with two US utilities, including for an integrated liquefaction plant with the first in the nation hybrid (gas/electric) drive, it said.

Chart said a Northeast US customer plans to utilize both natural gas and RNG in this long duration energy storage solution meeting reliability and environmental targets.

As part of the second US deal, Chart would supply a nitrogen refrigeration cycle liquefaction system to an existing LNG peak shaving facility for a regulated US utility company.

“Recent upgrades have been made to this facility and Chart is proud to continue that trend by furnishing a new gas turbine compressor, cold box, heavy hydrocarbon removal system, turbo expanders, and other associated equipment,” it said.

(Article updated to say that Chart previously said it would provide equipment for the first phase of Tellurian’s Driftwood LNG project, Cheniere’s Corpus Christi Stage 3 expansion, and Venture Global’s Plaquemines facility.)
