India’s Deep Industries scores Mundra LNG gig

India’s Deep Industries said it has won a contract from compatriot GSPC LNG to provide services for the latter’s Mundra regasification plant in Gujarat.

Deep Industries said on Wednesday it had received a letter of award from GSPC LNG, a joint venture consisting of the government of Gujarat, GSPC, Adani Group, and others.

Under the contract, Deep Industries would provide gas compression services at the Mundra LNG terminal for a period of five years, it said.

Deep Industries added that the contract has a price tag of 444 million rupees ($5.96 million), but it did not provide any additional information.

The Mundra LNG terminal received its first commissioning cargo in January 2020.

It has two 160,000-cbm storage tanks, a truck loading facility, and a capacity of 5 mtpa.

However, the facility operated at just 20.5 percent capacity in the April-November period, data from the oil ministry’s Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell shows.

India’s LNG imports dropped for the sixth straight month in November when compared to the year before, while prices continued to increase.

PPAC’s data shows that LNG imports declined by 20.8 percent to 2.22 billion cubic meters or about 1.61 million tonnes in November.
